The building is located in a Byzantine settlement on the eastern slopes of Mount Taygetus, at the edge of the Anakolon canyon, looking over the plain of Laconia. In order to climb the canyon, you pass between giant rock formations and near running water to come face to face with the majesty of Mount Taygetus in the distance. The surrounding area is one of outstanding natural beauty and forms part of the Natura 2000 Network. Enjoy the ride to this secluded winter sanctuary connecting the past to the present. This project, by balbek bureau, was completed on a small budget, with tons of love and undefeatable sense of humor. balbek bureau is an architectural interior design bureau based in Kyiv, Ukraine. For 12 years’ experience in designing bespoke commercial, corporate and residential facilities, they have been building their community of socially-sustainable spaces. This apartment is only 40 sq. m. When working on modest budgets the designers encourage scaling back to a bare minimum, without which a comfortable existence would be impossible. In this case, for instance, they left the walls unchanged, just cleaned and thoroughly dusted them. The entire budget load was directed at replacing and preparing those areas where the owner spends most of his time. They installed wide double-glazed units instead of old windows in the office. The kitchen cabinets, although tiny, were made of stainless steel to high quality and performance standards, based on a modern…

Design, sustainability, restoration, enhancement, interior design, photography, procedures, enterprise. These are the themes the partners of Officina 8A Studio are focused on everyday. The key theme of this recovery presented here, is the discovery and consequent enhancement of the existing architectural elements of value. Elements, such as frescoed ceilings, frames, openings, have regained power and play the role of background and at the same time protagonist in a modern apartment. The living area finds its natural identity in a vast space with an angular view of the street: here there is a living room, dining area and kitchen without any interruption or limit. The bedroom plays with the theme of extrusions: a double mezzanine lifts the bed onto a podium. Strong in design and large-scale in terms of degree of development project of the Aiya Design Studio. The room in the house, built in 1907 in the Ostozhenka district, required significant restoration, redevelopment and integration of modern interior and technological solutions. On an area of 200 m 2, at the request of customers, the designer designed two apartments: a large (approximately 150 m 2 ) for older family members and younger children and a studio apartment (50 m 2) for the eldest daughter, a student who is fond of creativity. Since over time the possibility of using the entire space as a whole cannot be ruled out, both apartments are made in the same style, decoration and materials overlap. The interior is built on a combination of classic decoration (with elements of the old Moscow and French style) and modern furniture, lighting and equipment. Enjoy a tour!!!! A young and modern couple had a dream in common: a country house that welcomed the lived stories, the references of the years of living in Barcelona, the paths of a debutante São Paulo registered by her grandfather, the family relics. The studio sought to harmonize the contrasts proposed by the couple’s history, between past and contemporary, between city and countryside. It resulted in an unusual mixture of graffiti inspired by the 19th century puppet theater, rustic furniture, carefully designed to match the dishes inherited from her grandmother, narratives of life that integrate with the environments that flow in a fluid way and connected to a dedicated curatorship that includes renowned artists and designers. Melina Romano Studio is a Design studio, based in São Paulo, that researches and develops Residential, Corporate and Hotel projects. Since 2007 they seek to interpret and represent. Here is another tiny flat, just 20 square meters by Melina Romano Studio based in Brazil. The designer had searched its inspiration in modern contemporary style but also used strong colors in orange, shades of green and black. Projects like this make us think about the fact that space is something relative, because if the benchmark is how many experiences can fit within a space, this loft leaves nothing to be desired. In synergy with current concepts about living, it is fluid, integrated, functional and cozy. Highlight for the modular cabinets that provide dynamics to the space and also to the detail of the mixture between ceramic and burnt cement on the floor, a melting point between environments.
