The rs apartment is a project by Arthur Casas Studio that matches customer demand: surrounded by a 360º view of the Ipanema beach, it is a minimalist yet cozy and friendly place, where the owner family could go to spend some seasons and to receive their friends in Rio de Janeiro. The 520m² plan was fully adapted so the rooms could be placed around the perimeter and, due to this, offer the best view possible – as it is placed in such privileged sight. A minimalist aesthetic prevails at the spaces – as well as a cozy, friendly and full of life atmosphere. This situation is provided by a furniture arrangement that mixes national and international choices – some of them designed by Arthur Casas himself. The harmony between the concepts of all areas merges in the enhancement of the view, the natural landscape of Rio de Janeiro – essential condition always…
Founder and Creative Director of Leyden Lewis Design Studio, Lewis has a background which encompasses the culturally rich Caribbean heritage of Trinidad and Tobago, urban sophistication, and classical European Modernism. His unrivaled aesthetic has made him the celebrated New York designer that he is today. Every home should reflect its owners’ style and should emphasize the element they’re passionate about. In other words, a home should be the a material representation of its owners’ minds, an extension of their personality. So Lewis beautifully reflected the owner’s inclinations in that project. Enjoy!!!!
An elegant yet functional residence , a family-friendly home that simultaneously conveyed permanence, comfort, luxury, tradition, and modernity. The challenge for Kelly Hohla Interiors was how to weave these seemingly disparate notions together as a holistic solution. The answer was to create a house that functioned as a strong yet neutral armature and that relied upon traditional proportions and materials. The interiors could then serve as an elegant counterpoint, animating the spaces as desired. The simple approach to major interior finishes provides a sense of calm and scale to the house while furnishings provide touches of comfort.Enjoy it !!!! Broderic Design developed a unique, playful, vision for a stylish couple’s Tribeca loft by mixing artisanal furniture with vintage finds for a one of a kind home. Besides the loft-standard set of brick walls and wooden beams, the interiors now have spectacular cabinet furniture of deep blue shade and a diverse decor in ethnic style. Great design for a stylish apartment!!! Photography : Sean Litchfield
This building on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam, was completely renovated and adapted by Studiojvz to the wishes of the times on behalf of the new owners – an enterprising couple with a focus on foreign countries.Van Zwetselaar’s design DNA is clear: he likes the contrast between old and new, in order to balance history and future with each other. He likes to use the word heritage to indicate where his heart lies. The house consists of a front, a back and a garden house and the first stone was laid in the seventeenth century. It was a house full of asymmetry, very disjointed and everything was out of balance but the studio made it a whole again. Enjoy the virtual tour!!!!
In the middle of the city you will find this beautiful attic of 340 sqm in two characterful floors. Here, the highest quality is offered with material selection from all over the world and the floor really sets the standard for an architecturally designed home. Located in Stockholm city centre, this stylish home used to belong to the founder of Swedish fashion brand Filippa K. When she left a few years ago, she sold it furnished, probably because some of the pieces such as the marble kitchen table was designed especially for this space. The new owner stayed true to the stylist’s signature and the interior didn’t change much over the years. Isn’t it a proof that good styling is timeless? The home itself is a modern and restful oasis that has undergone a meticulous renovation with a lovely blend between the original building’s structure and modern architectural additions. At the top, sun is offered in…

David Cafiero has a strong sense for eclectic vintage and contemporary materials. Born and raised in the Hudson Valley, David has been many things: forester in his family’s lumber business; commercial fisherman on New England’s coast; private yacht chef throughout the Caribbean; event planner, café owner, and decorator in New York City. His style is eclectic, pragmatic, quietly sensual, like a Yankee just returned from early 20th century Paris. A longtime resident of Provincetown, he has also been deeply influenced by its salt-air worn woods, shifting, elemental light, and its long relationship with abstract expressionism. This residential project by REID architecture PLLC, embraces sustainability and takes the concept of recycling building materials to another level with the reuse, rehabilitation, and relocation of two older vernacular structures, an early 20th century roadside barbershop and a mid-19th century kitchen building, into a small weekend cottage in tidewater Virginia. The two abandoned wood frame structures were renovated and upgraded with insulation, framing repairs, new roofing, and additional salvaged windows to create bright open interiors and water views for a narrow 5-acre peninsula lot on the Yeocomico River. The two buildings are connected by a narrow breezeway that functions as an entry and a small dining nook.A small addition on the south side provides a bathroom and kitchen. A covered porch was added on the north to create an outdoor seating area with views of the 18th century port and village of Kinsale. ( Published with BowerBird). Photography : Francis…
Inspiration for this project by Snorre Stinessen Studio, was mainly drawn from the landscape, the orientation in relation to views, privacy and the sun, but also strongly from the client wish to entertain guests and family visiting over longer periods. The design seeks to emphasise the closeness to the nature while allowing a comfortable stay indoors and it also seeks to underline the transition between spaces and activities we normally are too busy to appreciate. The building is comprised of several individual volumes and spaces connected via in-between spaces that provide an experience of being outdoors and symbolises the transition between spaces and functions. The conceptual idea is to tell the story of journeys in the everyday life and to emphasise the values and importance of our different activities. The organisation also allows for guests to stay over longer periods and several activities to take place without disturbing each other. Photography…
Two Sheds, by design studio Dreamer Lab, is located on 25 acres of bush in the hills immediately to the west of the Lorne township, Victoria, Australia. It is a retreat allowing the clients to disconnect from the world of city, noise, and work as they come together to reconnect and begin a 30-year project to rejuvenate the surrounding bushland. The project uses a minimal material palette and a simple design language drawing from local cottages, agricultural buildings and Australian vernacular. It provides a backdrop for cherished family experiences as the inhabitants slow down, notice and engage with the simple joys of living.
