London-based architects De Rosee Sa have completed the extension and extensive refurbishment of a converted barn, together with the completion a new build guesthouse in Wells, Somerset. Known as Kilnwood, the property is located on the edge of the Mendip Hills with an extensive view overlooking Glastonbury Tor. The brief for the project given to De Rosee Sa was to ensure that the renovation and new build share the same local vernacular and architectural language as that of other nearby farms and rural buildings, such as pitched roofs and black ship-lap timber boarding Highlights of the new build include the kitchen, which features exposed beams in the pitched roof, bespoke shaker-style cabinetry in a black inky hue, reconstituted stone worktops and traditional terracotta tiles in a contrast of luxurious textures and tone. From a 1950s property with limited architectural character, Ham Interiors undertook this full design, build and interior design project to create a modern country home. Open-plan living spaces with pitched ceilings are given warmth with an eclectic collection of antiques and specially commissioned large-scale artworks, while reclaimed sinks and fireplaces were sourced on buying trips to Belgium. The studio’s signature shiplap boarded ceilings, textural flooring, bold pops of colour and handcrafted furniture give this country home an established elegance. They undertook this project alongside their partner company, Tom House a bespoke property development practice.

The original 1930 bungalow’s main value was its prime location near South Congress. Otherwise, the existing structure was dark and dated. The original structure’s living spaces were cut off from the backyard by the master bedroom and a utility room. Thus, it was stripped to the studs and a few slight but powerful changes were made to the interior walls to create a more livable floor plan. New materials add a fresh edge to the existing dwelling while making the transition from the old structure to the new seamless. The original shiplap walls in the “conservatory” were updated and darkened using the Japanese Shou sugi ban technique. So, this villa in the suburbs of Berlin, according to available documents, was a project of the well-known architect Paul Imberg in a lush corner plot of 672 m² with south , east and west orientation.Villa Imberg is a perfect symbiosis of historical and modern interior architecture. This large light-filled open loft in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City was purchased by a growing family to make into their family home. The loft, previously a lighting showroom, had been converted for residential use with the standard amenities by Kimberly Peck and Interior Finishes LLC but since it was entirely open, it needed to be reconfigured. One of the best attributes of this particular loft is its extremely large windows situated on all four sides due to the locations of neighboring buildings.   The original tin ceiling was preserved throughout the loft with all new lighting run in orderly conduit beneath it, much of which is exposed light bulbs. This country house by interior designer Anastasia Muravyeva is located near Moscow, in the vicinity of Pirogovo. The residence has an area of ​​300 sq.m. and two floors.The interior uses a complex color palette and a number of items are made to special order. For example, a staircase with a wrought-iron fence was made according to the sketch of the designer. An unusual solution as well is the olive doors with patina.
