San Miguel’s 1st completely stoppable guesthouse, MESóN HIDALGO, is a historic home. MESóN HIDALGO has housed travelers, artists, revolutionaries and healers dating back to the time of the battle for Mexico’s Independence. Built in 1693, it was rumored to once have been home to a priest who “healed people and performed miracles,” hence its aforementioned good juju, but today it’s been transformed into three distinctive guest suites and a retail spot, a model that is unlike anything else in the colorful tourist town.The walls still resonate with the creativity and spirit of those inspiring individuals who traveled through and made their fame in San Miguel.Enjoy the tour!!! This project involved the construction of a new single level family home. The building was approved under the complying development code and was designed and constructed within 18 months. The home is designed by hobbs jamieson architecture to take full advantage of the winter sun, whilst managing privacy and connecting to the interspersed courtyard areas throughout the home. The dwelling presents a detailed, closed and private wall to the street, which upon entry opens up to invite the visitor in. Large voluminous spaces greet the user, control the light and connect to varied outdoor spaces. The result is a contemporary home with striking spaces that gives so sense of its expanse from the street. Tarramurra House was designed by JDA Studio, a boutique architectural and interiors studio based in Brookvale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Originally from New Zealand, Director John Deuchrass has several years experience working on a range of residential projects in various locations from Sydney to across the Tasman in New Zealand. The practice has developed great experience and a passion for houses and the way people live in them. For each project they attempt to enrich this process and like to add value to it. Contemporary beachy with polished farmhouse elements make for an eclectic and beautiful mix for a young family in the Hamptons by Kevin O’Sullivan + Associates / KOSA. It features a combination of woods inside, as well as cream and grey tones to make a uniform palette. Wood is used on the floor, accent walls, built-in closets and bathroom vanities, and ranges from bleached walnut to live-sawn white oak. The kitchen island, which is topped with white marble, was custom-made by the studio. It also created the millwork closets in the foyer made from white oak that has been bleached, fumed and whitewashed. Enjoy the tour!!! An existing double-storey terrace house in Carlton was completely refurbished by SG2 design Studio, to give new life to ageing interiors. A restricted materials palette of black & white porcelain tiles, light timber veneer cabinetry, black fixtures and fittings and green highlights were introduced throughout the house.The predominantly white backdrop draws natural light into previously darkened spaces and provides a clean canvas for the collector’s bespoke furniture pieces and artwork. Zara Home takes us to a Greek island with its new spring summer 2021 collection “Writing from Hydra”. With a focus on natural materials and tones, it invites us to settle into a beautiful house by the sea, where we can imagine taking a nap in the hottest hours, while a soft breeze stirs the curtains in the bedroom. This countryside residence by Urban Soul Project, is located in the extensive olive grove of the area, close to the sea in the northern part of Corfu The plot is elongated, widened in its first, highest part, close to the road and therefore at its entrance, where the house is located. The shape of the plot and the opening to the view of the olive grove, led to its almost inevitable placement in this widened part of it. The architectural idea for the composition of a complex of buildings, starting from the archetypal structure of barn houses, with main and auxiliary buildings around an enclosed courtyard, high walls, combined with morphological elements of Corfu stems from the intention to design a house expressing the genius loci.
