The project involved the refurbishment of a Grade II Listed maisonette in Marylebone by Trellik Design Studio, for a well travelled couple with a vast collection of traditional and contemporary African art. Strong and vibrant colours were added throughout the interior on the walls, joinery and furniture to bring a fresh and contemporary edge to the traditional architectural setting. A large open shelves joinery item was designed as a feature of the main living space to accommodate and display the eclectic collection of artefacts whilst acting as a study and storage unit at low level. The niches reveal a selection of different painted background to add playfulness and accent of colours to the interior.
