Mezzanine by Special Umbria, is a small antique property, just 30 sq m, part of of the ancient Hebrew quarter of Modica. The restoration of the small property has been inspired by the unique features of Arabic houses in the Medina, providing peaceful spaces in the heart of a busy town. It feels almost if you are part of a Moroccan Riad. Great attention has been given to the choice of materials, which are natural, ecological, and, above all, typical of the Sicilian tradition: stone walls, lime plasters, cane roof, stone and colorful tiled floors. Mezzanine is like a fairytale staying there and enjoying these views. In (quite) a few steps you enter the old town of Modica which is one of the well known Baroque towns in Sicily. From there you can also reach other interesting towns like Ragusa, Noto and Scicli easily as well as the beach.

One of Studio Puisto’s designs stands in a coniferous forest in Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland. Emma Johansson and co-designers got the assignment to design the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel in August 2015. The next year in November, the unique luxury hotel with treetop views opened on the Arctic Circle. The inspiration for the accommodation concept – set on a steep natural slope – came from Nordic nature and culture as well as the magical world of SantaPark. A vision started to form: small individual accommodation buildings set in nature, their spirit highlighting characteristics of the area and creating an optimal setting for experiencing both nature and arctic mysticism. The suites that stand on stilts draw inspiration from a classic Finnish toy, “käpylehmä,” meaning pine cone cow. All suites have window walls facing north for viewing the Northern Lights and the surrounding forest in comfort. The wooden hotel won the first prize…

The home is located in the heart of the town of Monteleone d’Orvieto inside a medieval palazzo that was modified over four centuries and became an elegant noble residence in the 1800’s: Its second floor complete with a beautiful terrace, the vaulted stables and underground caves that were used to store local wine and olive oil production, became “Mazzini 31” in 2012 after the owners purchased it in a state of disrepair. 40 Winks is based in hip and trendy East London. The house has a very glamorous history. For more than a decade, it was one of London’s most popular fashion and celebrity locations, playing host to hundreds of major advertising campaigns and high profile editorial shoots. So many photographers, stylists and models kept asking if they could stay there that they came up with the idea of ’40 Winks’. A whimsical mashup of decor that’s equal parts Jane Austen, Lewis Carroll, and Frida Kahlo, 40 Winks is a tiny boutique property in rapidly gentrifying East London that’s a flight of pure fancy. The three-pearl property has just two rooms, and their bath is shared. There’s also no in-room TVs. Despite its bijou size, it has achieved an almost mythical status since guests find much more entertainment in the elegant 18th-century interiors. Take a tour then!!!!
