Do you want to go to Madrid? Try to book yourself a tourist apartment for the weekend using the booking app of your choice … The first one in Malasaña with little terrace and the bar looks great, but that other one in Chamberí is also very cool and although smaller, its sofa-bed “will do” cause it´s just so stunning… For those who want to feel in Miami Beach without crossing the Atlantic, you have this one, in La Latina, filled with neon lights, “flamingoes” and all the pastels of art deco; for those of you who like to feel like English Lords, there is this other one, very close, entirely covered in chesterfield couches and antique bookcases…. This is how three apartments, designed by Egue y Seta, of almost identical surface ( 34m2 + 53m2 + 40m2 ), layout and located in the same building, ended up looking like…

Our experience leads us to believe that the compact living is a global trend that in the feature will become stronger. More and more people choose to live in the big megalopolis and to make the small studio and micro apartments their home. And in the future, this tendency will increase the number of people and it will decrease inhabitable space so that the dwellings will become smaller and smaller. Therefore, you must use your imagination and creativity and to search for unconventional solutions so as to create a wholly functional and welcoming home in such a restricted space arrangement. It’s important , as well, to add personality to keep the living area from feeling too stark. In this apartment, designed by Nest Design Group, pops of color make for eclectic living space that offers utility and style in a small package.

The Little House by mwworks studio is nestled into a lush second growth forest on a north facing bluff overlooking Hood Canal in Seabeck, WA . Built over an existing foundation, the new building is just over 400 square feet. Early design discussions focused on creating a compact, modern structure that was both simple and efficient. Visitors approach the site from the south, a thin canopy marks the entry and frames views of the canal below. The more transparent north and west elevations pull the landscape and distant view into the space. Taut oxidized black cedar and blackened cement infill panels clad the exterior while lightly painted panels and soft pine plywood warm and brighten the interior. On a sunny western corner of the house a large patio reaches out into the landscape and serves as a jumping off point to the trail system wandering down to the water’s edge.…

This prestigious residence, the second project presented here by designer Carola Vannini, is nestled within a unique urban and artistic architectural mosaic. Ekaterina Fedorova’s main task was to create a house in which time stood still as if it were inherited from generation to generation. So, in that house in Dmitrovskoe in Moscow, the interior was created for a family with two children. The main areas are located on the ground floor: a kitchen, a dining room in which the family gathers at a large dining table and a living room with a fireplace, where a welcoming hostess receives guests. Also on the ground floor there is the owner’s office. On the second floor there are private rooms: the main bedroom, a children’s room, a guest bedroom and a bathroom. From the second floor you can exit to the terrace, which is a large balcony. Every autumn, leaves from trees fall picturesquely there. There is also a ground floor. It houses a wine cellar, where inaddition to wine, the hostess stores her blanks…

An office space – an apartment without either bathrooms, kitchen or storage – the former head office of a fashion brand in the center of Stockholm and a client that hoped to transform it into a home. Traces of the old 19th century splendour were there, but all those beautiful, old characteristics were painted in thick layers of white color with modern spotlights in all ceilings, which reinforced the feeling of an impersonal office. A color palette based on original colours, three expressive tiled ovens, decorations in ceilings and carpentry and an original pattern from a floor – these old traits and peculiarities were the clues that Note Design Studio needed to take a white office space into a contemporary direction. The result is a harmonious but rich color experience – inspired by the original splendour – and a new home for their client and his children. Photography : Note Design…
