This studio apartment, just 31 sq M, came on the market in Gothenburg through Stadshem. The small home is painted in a lovely sand tone and combined with white and black tones plus some lovely artwork hanging on the walls. To create a separate sleeping area they used the loft space under which is a large closet to keep the small space nice and tidy. This is such a tiny studio space, but still it looks relatively spacious and I think one person could live comfortably here because of the smart layout. The thing that the bed is placed on top of the bathroom already saves a lot of space and there is a decent amount of empty space around the furniture as well, which doesn’t make this studio look cramped. Set on the ridge of Middle Lypiatt, in the Cotswolds, an old Grange and barn converted to a private residence with views across the Bisley Valley. A crisp and contemporary feel is achieved while using traditional elements such as exposed beams, dry stone walling and cotswold stone in the construction. As a barn footprint allows, the house had lovely long spaces which is unusual for the cotswolds and the new renovation has created an influx of light into the rooms.Justin Van Breda was asked to decorate this house for a young family and the brief was to use a lot of navy, pops of colour, incorporate indigenous Australian art, and to keep it light and fun. Mixing materials of wool, velvet and linens demarcated various spaces- a winter sitting room, a summer dining area, a light and airy attic bedroom. The designer custom designed and manufactured almost all the furniture…

Essense of character, cozy and homely! In this turn -of the – century apartment by Historiska hem, there really is a special atmosphere. Here you live in a quiet courtyard wing with 3.1 meters in ceiling height and high windows with deep niches that together provide space and airiness. Charming old wooden floors are combined with walls painted in natural tones. The apartment has a studio feel while also having clearly divided rooms. It is technically one space, but as part of the interior, the bedroom has been separated with an industrial glass wall to create the idea of separate rooms without making the already small room even smaller. The black metal grid frame supports the glass windows and creates walls without cutting off the view and the light coming from the rest of the apartment. This modern farmhouse located outside of Spokane, Washington, by Uptic Studios, creates a prominent focal point among the landscape of rolling plains. The composition of the home is dominated by three steep gable rooflines linked together by a central spine. This unique design evokes a sense of expansion and contraction from one space to the next. Vertical cedar siding, poured concrete, and zinc gray metal elements clad the modern farmhouse, which, combined with a shop that has the aesthetic of a weathered barn, creates a sense of modernity that remains rooted to the surrounding environment. Large expanses of glass by Glo windows cover the home’s southern face and capture stunning views of the rolling hills in the distance. 12’ tall trapezoidal window configurations on the second level cap the center gable end above lofty French doors creating a deep sense of connection and transparency between the interior of the modern farmhouse and the natural beauty…
Every home bears its history, its origins and its people who lived inside the walls of the house with all the sorrows, joys, dreams and all the “now” of life that shaped the atmosphere, in this case in a barn from the 19th century that was initially for The animals, however, were rediscovered and transformed in the mid-60s by a man of many dreams. The question must be asked 50 years later – Have you ever thought it could be so damn nice? – The truth is that it is so timelessly beautiful and carefully renovated with so much craftsmanship that it is difficult to bring in. Today, the house, sold by Fantastic Frank, is divided into several units with three separate kitchens and the possibility of own entrances for each part / apartment of the house. There is also the possibility of running a smaller bed and breakfast or simply opening up…
Hand-chiseled stone, wrought iron and antique wood introduce a deep sense of history into this elegant Austin home by designer Marcus Mohon. “There’s a little bit of magic to this house,” designer Marcus Mohon says of the southern European-inspired home he decorated for a couple in Austin.”It makes you want to sit down and linger.” Overlooking Barton Creek, the spacious abode exudes approachable old-world elegance through cozy furnishings and mottled-stone walls. “Every space is stylish but comfortable,” the designer says. “We eliminated the concepts of ‘formal’ and ‘informal’ from the interiors.” Photography: Dror Baldinger
Inside a century old structure initially built for automotive assembly and display, the Vladimir Radutny Architects Studio renovated a residence that was poorly functioning as a domestic space. In resolving the spatial problems inside this impressive volumetric shell the architects crafted a living environment that evokes mental wellness and inspiration within. Now, as one enters this dwelling through a low, wood clad transition zone the overwhelming feeling of being inside a large industrial room is very much subdued. Scaled architectural components, material restraint and theatrical lighting throughout, lessens the overall spatial dominance, while openness and clarity of space is maintained. Enjoy the tour!!!! Here is another extension project by Campbell Cadey Architectural Studio. The extension was planned so that in style and materials it resonated with the rest of the house. It was built from restored brick, similar in shade to the old building. Part of the new walls was plastered so that they fit with the windows of the building. In a white block with a panoramic window, reading benches were made inside and outside the house. A cantilever takeaway at the top of the extension is made to create a shadow above the resting place. From the side of the street in front of the bench they put a fire bowl, next to which you can arrange family gatherings. Campbell Cadey Studio was established in 2016 to bring together the principles of architecture with urban design and landscape, creating spaces that will both help and inspire the people living, working and playing in them. They strongly believe that great architecture…
