Casa H is a house on one floor, in the neighborhood of Las Letras, next to the Paseo del Prado in Madrid. The apartment is in a Gutierrez Soto building, from the 1950s, from the first examples of reinforced concrete structure in residential buildings. The building has a border position between the area of the museums of the Paseo del Prado and the scale of old Madrid in the Barrio de las Letras.

LUCAS Y HERNÁNDEZ – GIL Studio made a comprehensive reform, since the house was very compartmentalized in rooms. A large open space was needed to include the owners art collection. The concrete structure of the building, which was left in its original form, gave the architect the flexibility to develop the new proposal. The difficulty of project was to get a space halfway between the house and the gallery, without losing the scale and comfort of the domestic. The color palette is neutral to enhance the paintings and photographs.
